DRESS CODE FOR JOB INTERVIEWS

It is important to demonstrate at an interview good appearance as well as good manners.

Do your research. Know something about the company where you are interviewing. Find out what their employees wear and then dress as they are or nicer than that.
Dress code depends on the industry, with banking and finance being the most conservative. Dress neatly and formally.
Men usually wear suits with starched white shirts, ties and well-kept shoes.
Women wear dresses or conservative skirt suits with simple accessories.

Caps, bandannas, athletic shoes, sweats, unkempt clothes, jeans, singlets, open shoes and thongs are never acceptable. The informal attitude of the Danes is expressed in a generally relaxed but still conservative dress code. While many men prefer a suit and tie, it is not uncommon to see businessmen in more casual clothing, especially when meeting contacts they already know. When you are in Denmark, the easiest and safest way to dress is in a polished yet understated way. You are expected to appear professional and well dressed, and you should keep everything low-key. Neatness and cleanliness are essential. Suits are not as common as they are for example in the US, but in doing business with high-ranking executives they are expected. Women often wear pant suits to work. If invited to a Danish home for an informal get together, clean jeans and an open-neck or sports shirt are acceptable.
High-ranking Danish executives often host black-tie dinners. Male executives should seriously consider bringing a tuxedo along, while women will need an evening gown if you anticipate such an invitation.

Greek Clothing

Denmark is a cosmopolitan country and there isn't a dress code as such.Having said that, Copenhagen residents do dress very smartly.
Jeans are always popular and will serve as a versatile base to your wardrobe. Wear them with cool layers such as camisoles and a cardigan for the summer, or warmer ones e.g. a long sleeved shirt and sweater in the winter.

A few well-chosen pieces of costume jewelry will transform any outfit. And a pashmina is a versatile piece that will dress up any outfit, keep you warm in a chilly breeze, or cover your shoulders for modesty.

German Costume.

You will want to dress in lighter layers. In the warmer months of the year it's common to see lightweight knit vests, with jeans and comfortable shoes. Nice looking t-shirts with light pants. And even in the summer it's smart to bring a jacket or a coat, preferably one that is water-proof, since the weather can change drastically. For the ladies,skirts with nylon stockings, or other hosiery, are fashionable as well.

You may experience quite a bit of rain, or on rare occasion some snow. To keep yourself warm layers of clothes are suggested. Tops that have long-sleeves or vests made of wool or cotton make a good choice for this time of year. Complete your cold weather attire with a heavy coat, gloves, scarf and hat.

Dress code is somewhat informal in Denmark in comparison with other more formal cultures such as Japan.
Danes tend to wear smart-casual clothes with the men often wearing sports jackets and trousers. Ties seem to be optional. Pastel colors are often worn. Women will often wear trousers at work (especially in the winter) and again may appear to be less formal than in certain other countries.
Certain sectors (banking, the law etc.) may still dress slightly more formally, so it might be an idea to check in advance with local contacts.
As a Scandinavian country, Denmark can be exceptionally cold in the winter and overcoats, gloves and hats are essential. It is often a good idea to wear several layers of clothing, as offices are often extremely warm, no matter how cold it might be outside.
