Wordpress Writing Settings
- The Writing settings is used to control the interface while you write down the post, blogs and while customizing your web page contents.
- These settings tend to control the WordPress features by adding & editing posts, Pages, and Post Types, as well as the optional functions like Remote Publishing, Post via e-mail, and Update Services.
- To access the writing settings, just follow the below steps :

- Click Settings -> Writing option. To change writing settings, go to Settings -> Writing option. The Writing settings screen will appear as shown below :

- The Default Post Category is the Category assigned to a post if you fail to assign any other Categories with writing your posts.
- Default Post Formats are used by themes to create different styling for different types of posts. This setting is only visible if the current activated theme supports Post Formats.
- Post via Email feature is 100 % optional. With this option, you can set up your blog to publish e-mails as blog posts.
- A mail server receives e-mails on your behalf and stores them for retrieval. Your mail server will have a URI address, such as mail.example.com, which you should enter here.
- Login Name : Here the e-mail address that you will be using for the writing by e-mail feature is wikitechy@wordpress.com, then 'wikitechy' is the Login name.
- Password : Enter the strong password for above login name or login email id.
- Default Mail Category : WordPress will assign this Category to all of the posts published via the Post by e-mail feature. You can also create new category.
Update Services :

- WordPress will automatically notify the update services of the sites listed in the box when you publish your post.
- Save changes button is used to save all your information after filling all your above information’s.
