- You should be on Stock firmware to update your device (Not working on the Rooted device).
- Ensure external SD card is decrypted, else you may be facing some issue.
- Take a complete backup of your phone for safe and secure side and then proceed.
- Make sure that your phone has at least 50-60% charged to prevent the accidental shutdown in-between the process.
Download Android 7.0 Nougat for Verizon Galaxy S7
- If you are on PH1 firmware, download S7Nupdate.zip and rename it as ‘update.zip’.
- If your device is on PI3, download PI3_PK4update.zip and rename it as ‘update.zip’.
- If your S7 is on the PK4 firmware, download S7Nupdate2.zip (Beta 2) and rename it to ‘update.zip’.
How to Manually Install Android 7.0 Nougat on Verizon Galaxy S7
First, enable ‘USB debugging’ and turn OEM unlock off from setting>developer option>. To enable Developer Options, go to About phone and tap the Build Number 7 times.
Now reboot your device into download mode (power + volume up +home) and make sure phone says Official under system and binary.
If it does not shows official, then you must flash the PH1 firmware via ODIN, by using the pit file and the full CSC (not the home CSC) file.
Now create a new folder named fota in the root directory of your external SD card.
Now download the Nougat OTA file for Verizon Galaxy S7 from above according to your firmware and place Update.zip on Ext SD card in folder fota.
Now turn off phone and reboot into Recovery mode (Power + volume down + home)
Click on choose apply Update.zip from SD card
Now select Software Upgrade and start SDCard Upgrade.
Click on Yes to apply.

Update your Verizon Galaxy S7 to Nougat. But if you are facing an error “E: footer is wrong” followed by “E: signature verification failed” then Decrypt your SD Card and try again.
How to Decrypt SD card
- Go to your phone Settings -> Security -> Encryption.
- Now you can see an option Decrypt SD card.
- Click on the Decrypt SD card option.
- Now uncheck all the boxes on the next screen to Decrypt your SD Card.
