Scenario:
- Improper date time settings
- Network issue blocking access to iTunes Store servers and ports
- Malfunctioning due to Hosts file entries
- Software firewall settings
- Misconfiguration of security software
Error:
error code (-3212) itunes could not connect to the store, make sure your network connection is active and try again.
Fix 1:
For Windows Operating system:
1. Access the Date & Time settings from Control Panel.
Windows XP: Click Start -> Run -> type timedate.cpl.
Windows Vista & 7: Click the Start menu's search box -> type timedate.cpl.
Windows 8: Use the Search box -> type timedate.cpl.
Windows 10: Use the search box -> type timedate.cpl.
2. Check and update the date time to reflect current day settings.
For Mac Operating system:
1. From the Apple menu, select System Preferences.
2. click on Date & Time.
3. Select the option "Set date and time automatically".
4. Click on the Time Zone tab select current GEO location.
Fix 2:
Install or update the antivirus.
Fix 3:
Disable antivirus and/or firewall settings.
Fix 4:
1. Download a tool for PC Optimizer.
2. After installing click on the Repair All Button to scan the PC.
3. Click the Repair All Button again after the scan is completed.
Fix 5:
Fix for Windows PC:
1. Uninstall unknown/unwanted programs using control panel.
2. Repair damaged files by performing a system scan.
3. Perform windows updates via Control Panel -> System and Security -> Windows Update, and then perform update.
